We are very busy organising the Ball which is set to be a fabulous evening, with great food, live music, dancing, time to catch up with friends and make new ones.

The fundraising section of the evening is the auction of lots and that is where you can help.

1. We are putting together a wine lot and are asking you to help by sending in a bottle of your favourite wine, it can be red, white, rose or sparkling, whatever you enjoy drinking.

Please send your bottle of wine to the office or place it in the box at reception as soon as possible.

2. We are gathering donations of promises, items and ideas to put together this year’s lots.

Less Spending on Energy Bills Means More money for Education

An 18-month fundraising drive by the governors, staff and Friends of Wedmore First School has yielded nearly £45,000 – enough to fund the installation energy saving technology which it is hoped will eventually generate up to 20% of the school’s future energy needs.

70 solar photovoltaic panels will be installed on its south facing roof during the spring half term break in mid-February 2010. The School is aiming to achieve silver ‘Eco Schools’ status and plans to use the internet to link nationally and internationally with other sustainable primary schools throughout the south west.
