Community Award Jack Puddy, Grace White, Sam Tucker, Isaac Nicholls, Rebecca Brothwell, Thalia Weeks, Iona Neill, Joe Jonas, Hannah Thomas, Scarlett West, Charlie Spurr, Ethan Woolacott, Georgia Thurling, Jake King, Hamish Clarke, Charlie Cullimore, Emily Jenkins, Jasmine Puddy, Morgan Harris, Kate Darley and Thomas Manning all received a community award.

Headteacher’s Award Eli Tinney for helping in the sensory garden at the weekend with the bees. Eleanor Keen, Lizzie Chetwode, George Gass, Adam Stimpson, Holly Gill, Maisie Richards, Rachel Bean, Harry Ham, Lana Richards for their multiplication tables. All children received a headteacher’s award.

Helpers are urgently required for the Year 4 Leavers BBQ on Thursday 22nd July. We need people to do some food preparation at home and to serve at the event which runs from 6pm-9pm. This is annual event put on by the Friends of Wedmore First School for the children and parents in Year 4 as a way of saying goodbye and wishing them luck at their new schools. Well done to all the folk dancers who took part in the Wells Festival that took place a couple of weeks ago. We were very proud of how all the dancers performed. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves and a huge ‘thank you’ to those parents who came to support us. Their last performance will be at this weekends bike trials at 2:00pm.

Last Tuesday saw the South West in Bloom judges visiting our school to look at the Early Years sensory garden and pond area. Kate Darley, Morgan Harris, Thomas Manning, Iona Neill and Joe Jonas helped to show the judges around. Many thanks to John Tinney and Vicki Hendry for designing and supporting the children, in making bees sculptures which are displayed in the Early Years garden. Good luck to everyone involved when the results are announced later in the year.

Join us on the school field this Saturday12-4pm. Bring your bike and have a go at the bike trials. Bring your swimming costume and enjoy the pool. Have a go on the different class stalls. Fill up with lovely hotdogs, burgers, ice-creams, popcorn and cakes, then bounce yourself sick on the bouncy castle!! COME AND ENJOY THE FUN!
