| Skipping skills |
Jungle Topic |
Well done to Joe, Issy, Lettie, Andrea, Lilly and James of Owl class, who all joined Millie, Imogen, Elle, Tom, Tommy and Jasmine of Badger class, to put on a terrific display of skipping skills. The children had an afternoon of coaching courtesy of Dave and Tina from Skipping Workshops. The children enjoyed putting together a routine and were praised for their enthusiasm and abilities. Ropes are still available to be purchased for those of you who wish to try this great exercise, costing £4 from the office. |
Congratulations to Genna Hall and Miles Critchley – Hope both of Owl class for getting letters published in the Western Daily Press. As part of our ‘Jungle’ topic the children wrote to several newspapers highlighting the threats currently being experienced by the Amazon rainforest and jungles around the World. Copies of their letters can be read overleaf. |

There will also be a uniform sale on Wednesday 3rd March. Mrs Ashlea Slater will be available in the Learning Zone from 3.00pm onwards. |
| The Friends Quiz Night |
Library |
This is being held on Saturday 20th March from 7.30pm at the Swan Inn in Wedmore. Up to 6 people per team. Tickets cost £8 per person which includes a hot supper. There will be other games and a raffle. Come on - get that grey matter working and join in the fun! Tickets are available from the school. |
Could anybody share a Friday morning slot, helping in the library? There are a few Fridays Vanessa cannot attend and it would be a great help to do alternate weeks with someone. The slot is from 9 – 9.30am on Friday morning to help Y4 return and issue their library books. It is very easy and all you need is your CRB check! |
| Vouchers |
We must save the rainforest |
It is Voucher time again! Sainsbury have started issuing vouchers and will continue to do so until 8th June. The collection box is just inside the school entrance. Tesco will start on Monday 1st March until 9th May. ‘Box tops’ is nearing the end of the current collection so please drop any of those that you have as soon as possible. |
I am studying about the rainforest and I want to save it because trees need us and we need them to breathe! We breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Yet trees breathe in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Some facts – 69,000 acres of land are cut down every day but every year the size of Britain is cut down! Please support us. Miles Critchley-Hope (9)
We must save the rainforest
I am studying the rainforest and jungle. I need to tell readers why we should look after it, because the rainforest provides some of the medicine in the world. The trees need us and we need the trees. We also need to look after all the animals because they are important too. The rainforest provides food like nuts and berries. Some of the animals are nearly extinct. They cut down a whole bit the size of Britain every year, that’s why we need to save the rainforest. Genevieve Hall (9)
Equalities Survey
